Big Tuna

I want to take a moment to recognize Austin's very own big fish - Tom Thornton.  You may have heard of him.  He goes by such names as T-Thor, Julie the Cruise Director, or Emma's Dad. 

Since moving to Austin, he has managed to get himself mentioned in every possible news medium:  TV, Blogs, newspapers, radio - am I missing anything?  I hear skywriting is next.

Just this past weekend, he was a guest DJ on a radio station's Sunday morning 'Chill'.  He managed to slip in a shout-out to his girl, Em C Thor.   He talked about the bands he's been interviewing, like The Decemberists and Crowded House, the writing he does for Austinist.com, and his love for wine and food.

You may ask, why was he interviewed?  Like the radio announcer, you might question whether or not he is in a band.  The fact of the matter is, he was interviewed because he is just one cool guy.

Its been a long time since I checked on the scenic route. Very nice to see you are still updating and including so much about Emma. SHe is gorgeous like her mom! :) (and dad)
